The Heart Pine for this product usually comes from joists removed from old textile mills or warehouses;  the PatinaDeep™ product will have a partially milled face which leaves some of the original aging and texture; when we mill the floor we target (just a target, not a hard, fast guarantee) about half of the surface area to be original with the other half milled;  this process creates beautiful distinctions in the appearance between the original aged face and the newly milled bright wood; the amount of milling done to the face can be adjusted; just let us know what you want when you place your order.  With this mixture of appearances, an Antique Heart Pine PatinaDeep™ floor can anchor a variety of design motifs from rustic to refined.
