Shadow Boxes
HistoricWoods currently offers shadow boxes with reclaimed cedar frames. They are one of the most customizable products for customers with over a dozen options for the frame and even more options for the backer. The nature of reclaimed wood with its extensive character and the long list of possible combinations for the frame and backer means that each shadow box will be highly unique.
Shadow boxes are often used for highly personal and precious items and HistoricWoods understands that nature. Protection can be provided with a clear acrylic front or the box can easily be open-faced.
Here you can see the finish options for reclaimed cedar (frame and backer) and barn wood (backer only). The finishes create overall color tones for the piece, while enhancing the natural character of the wood. The natural color of boards ranges from nearly white to a deep brown, which creates a lot of pleasant variation. Mixing and matching is encouraged when it comes to shadow boxes. Just because you choose smokey for the frame finish doesn't mean you shouldn't choose pearl for the backer!

Shadow Box Reviews
Absolutely beautiful!! I love it. Materials and craftsmanship are gorgeous. Perfect showcase for a sculpture made from found natural objects.

I bought this as a shadow box for my horse. Most commercial boxes aren't deep enough for a halter or the other dimensions are too far off. Well made, arrived sooner than expected, will look lovely when I finish putting the items inside.

Exactly what I wanted in precise measurements to use for a shadow box to honor our dog who recently passed. Second purchase from this crafter and won't be last.
