Wood Sources

All of our product names contain a term to describe the source of the wood; those sources are briefly described below:

Reclaimed

Any wood which has been harvested and used in a previous application and then has been reclaimed to be re-milled or re-used

Antique

Any reclaimed wood for which was put into its original use more than 75 years ago

Salvaged

For our purposes salvaged wood is harvested from trees killed by fire or insect, but still standing in the forest; while salvaged could also mean reclaimed we do not use the word this way; salvaged is used by others as standing dead, forest salvage or rescued

FreshCut

this wood is simply new harvest from the fores, not reclaimed, not salvaged, just harvested, although, we do strive to provide as much of our FreshCut FSC Certified as possible
