Antique Warehouse Maple Flooring

back in the day, the day when multi level industrial buildings were built primarily of wood, a nice, clean and beautiful Hard Maple floor was laid as the wear layer for the warehouse or work areas;  Hard Maple was used because, well, it’s hard, and would hold up to the abuse of heavy equipment, forklifts and anything else a warehouse, mill or shop would dish out; decades later, after the floor has seen enough use to wear away the finish and gain a deep dark color from dirt, grime and a bit of oil, it was carefully removed; then we went to work on it to remove most of the dirt and oil; this process turns out flooring that shows off the scars of previous use which are enhanced by a touch of the oil penetrated dirt; the wood can go back down and replicate the warehouse from which it descended
